The Northern Extremes: Explore Grapes & Wine Styles of Okanagan

If you think British Columbia (BC) is just another ice wine region of Canada, you’re in for a surprise. BC’s dry reds and whites are some of the best in the world, thanks to the unique climate of extremes and northern latitude at the 50th parallel. These conditions create an ideal environment for making pristine wines with highly precise, pure flavours.

The Okanagan Valley, BC’s oldest and largest wine region, spans over 180km from north to south, encompassing various climatic zones that allow for the production of over 80 grape varieties and a wide range of wine styles. Indeed, 11 sub-GIs (Geographical Indications) have been officially established within Okanagan Valley to allow a more focused expression of the terroir of different parts of the valley.

Despite the exceptional quality of Okanagan wines, a complex series of political and economic barriers make it difficult for these wines to travel far outside BC, not to mention exports outside of Canada. However, you’re in luck! Our wine educator, Philip, has just returned from an intensive wine trip to Okanagan Valley and has brought back updates, knowledge, and, of course, the wines to Hong Kong, with generous support from some importers.

Join us for a masterclass where Philip will share the history of Okanagan winemaking, how the unique climate influences the wine styles, and, most importantly, allow you to taste the wines for yourself. This is an opportunity not to be missed, so book your spot today and join us for an unforgettable evening of Okanagan wine tasting.
