What you will learn after the course
- Describe a wine under the headings in the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)
- Assess each aspect of a wine using the scales of the SAT with reasonable accuracy
- Give only 1 descriptor for each aspect of the SAT except for aroma/flavour characteristics
- Apply knowledge of the natural factors to explain reasons for site selection, variety planted and resulting wine styles produced
- Apply knowledge of human influences in the vineyard to explain techniques used for growing grapes suitable for the production of dry through to sweeter styles of Riesling,
- Apply knowledge of winemaking techniques to explain the options used for the production of dry through to sweeter styles of Riesling, and 3 different quality level red wines from Bordeaux
- Describe each style of wine using the scales of the Systematic Approach to Tasting with accuracy.
- Identify the factors influencing the commercial value of these wine styles
