Argiolas is the foremost wine estate on the island of Sardinia (Sardegna) producing archetypal wines from native varietals. The winery was founded in 1938 by Antonio Argiolas and was the first on the island to pursue quality over quantity. Today, the Argiolas family is recognized as Sardinia’s leading producer of wine.
Sardinia, the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, has its unique history, culture and identity which differentiate it from the rest of Italy. It is one of Italy’s best-kept wine secrets! In this two-hour workshop, our VIA Italian Wine Ambassador and Certified Italian Wine Educator – Justin Chen will guide the audience to explore this amazing Mediterranean island and taste 7 signature wines (3 whites and 4 reds) from Argiolas, all made from native grape varieties from Sardinia, including two of their benchmark wines: Isola dei Nuraghis Rosso Korem and Turriga from the great 2016 vintage! Turriga, in particular, is regarded as an icon among the greatest Italian wines which stands out for its elegance, richness, class and balance that have made it a strong symbol of Sardinia!
We have the great honour to have Valentina Argiolas, who represents the third generation of the Argiolas family and one of the leading figures of women in wine in Italy to meet the audience in Hong Kong via live-stream, taste the same wines and share with us the unique characteristics and stories behind these wonderful wines. This is without doubt a wonderful experience for any serious wine lover and we look forward to your participation!
