Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, served as a crossroads for ancient civilizations. It has a very long history of viticulture and winemaking, diversified landscapes and micro-climates and countless indigenous grape varieties, almost like a mini-version of Italy!
In this two-hour workshop, our Italian wine specialist and educator Justin Chen will guide you through a journey on the history, culture, terroir and grape varieties of Sicily and taste 9 high quality wines from five estates under the Tasca d’Almerita group, the leading Sicilian wine producer.
Highlights of the wines include a Grillo from the ancient Phoenician port of Mozia, white and red wines from Mt. Etna, one of the best Syrah wines in Sicily, a rare sweet wine made from Malvasia di Lipari and the prestigious and iconic Rosso del Conte, the first single vineyard wine in Sicily, a Super Sicilian!
Don’t miss this rare chance to taste and understand the wines from this sunny and mysterious isle!
