WSET Level 3 Award in Sake (Intensive)

If you want to be able to taste, select, assess and enjoy Sake with confidence and professionalism, WSET Level 3 Award in Sake is for you!
Level 3 will answer cover these advanced topics and areas of learning:
- Reading sake labels, Kanji and a review of the sake brewing process
- Expert guide to sake tasting
- Understand rice growing, steaming and other fundamental production concepts
- Learn about making Koji, water and yeast
- Understand the full fermentation process
- Explore regionality, various sake styles and speciality styles
- Study jozo alcohol and filtration
- Understand the business of sake – sake trade organisations, sales and exports
This in-depth 18-hour course is both fun and structured, offering comprehensive sake education and practical training. You’ll acquire in-depth knowledge of sake and an internationally recognised sake qualification.
Course Structure
18 tutoring hours + Online Study
- Not less than 32 sakes for the tasting
- WSET Level 3 Award in Sake Specification
Examination
Unit One (1 Hour 45 Minutes ): Theory Examination
- 50 multiple-choice questions (part 1)
- 3 short written answers worth 25 points each (part 2)
Unit Two (30 minutes): Tasting Examination
- Blind tasting of two sakes
55% passing grade for all papers and units of the examination
Prerequisite
Completion of WSET Level 1 Award in Sake or equivalent recommended
All applicants must be over 18+
