A one day intensive training to gain solid knowledge of the principal grape varieties of notable regions.
Learn about what is “terroir”, and how grape-growing and winemaking options influence the style and quality of wines made in these notable regions:
Reds
- Merlot-dominated blend from right bank of Bordeaux of France
- Cabernet-dominated blend from left bank of Bordeaux of France
- Syrah from Rhône of France, compared with Shiraz from Barossa Valley of Australia
- GSM blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape of France
- Zinfandels from California
Whites
- Chardonnay from Chablis Premier Cru and Puligny-Fuisse of France, compared with new world region
- Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre of France, compared with Marlborough of New Zealand
- Pinot Grigio from Italy
16 wines will be offered for you to practise the systematic approach to wine tasting that is recognised across the wine industry. The course is suitable for those who have basic knowledge in wine (for example, those who have passed WSET Level 1 Award in Wine).
A certificate of attendance will be provided.
Attendee can get HK$2,000 cash voucher for the next WSET Level 2 Award in Wines course organised by MWM Wine School.
Ms. Anty Fung
A DipWSET, Certified Sommelier and Certified Specialist of Wine, Anty currently divides her time between managing Hip Cellar, a professional wine storage and a wine-and-dine concept AnOther Place, developing profile variety for the online wine trading platform WWXplorer and teaching WSET courses at MWM Wine School by Debra Meiburg MW. Anty has diversified her global understanding of wine and food and beverage management with professional exposure in Hong Kong, Las Vegas and Maldives.
