Aroma Disc

Out of stock

“The wine is redolent of red fruits: currants, red cherries and…you know.” Never get stuck scrambling for that last descriptor again: with an aroma disc in your pocket, a subtle downward glance is all you need to keep blind-tasting jitters at bay.

Wine is happiest when stored on its side, keeping the cork moist and maintaining the seal. Unfortunately, wine labels are not so happy lying face-down: First Growth Bordeaux and Plonk de Plonk don’t look terribly different from the top. Keep your collection clearly marked and easy to search with our erasable tags. If you have a bottle of ’97 Opus One on your shelf, don’t you secretly want your guests to know?

Or, if you like blind-tasting, use turned-over tags on un-labeled bottles to keep the wine’s identities a secret until you’re ready to take a peek…

Gin Ambassador

What is the Gin Ambassador Programme?

There’s no denying it – gin is in! Gin has seen a huge surge in popularity over the last few years, with a proliferation of new craft distilleries, unique and premium blends and international interpretations making it a very exciting market. To ensure you’re up to speed on the latest trends, as well as well versed in the basics, the history and the technicalities of gin, we’ve introduced the Gin Ambassador Programme.

The Gin Ambassador programme is a one-day programme that takes you on a gin journey covering:

  • Origins and history of gin through the centuries
  • Key production methods
  • Botanicals
  • Range of Gin styles
  • Gin cocktails
  • Perfect serve
  • Tasting

Along with sampling different gins in a variety of styles, you’ll also make your very own blend.

What is Gin?

Gin is far more than just a G&T. It can be sweet or savoury, depending on the botanicals used – today many gins use local or unusual botanicals. The tonic can also make a big difference and as more and more gins enter the market, tonic manufacturers are keeping pace, producing a spectrum of complementary flavours and styles.

What can we get from Gin Ambassador Programme?

Taste and analyse at least six gins, using tonics and garnishes to create the perfect combination. You’ll also taste a gin cocktail and discover recipes for a variety of cocktails, both classic and contemporary.

At the end of the programme there is a 30-question, multiple choice exam. Following successful completion, you will receive your prestigious Gin Ambassador certificate and lapel pin.

So, whether you work in hospitality or in the wine and spirit industry and would like to increase your professional skills – or you simply love gin – this programme is for you!
