WSET Online Educator:
All of WSET Online Educators hold the highest qualification WSET offers in their specialist subject. For example, to teach wine qualifications online at any level, they must have our Level 4 Diploma in Wines. To teach our spirits qualifications, they must have the Level 3 Award in Spirits and so on. Many of the educators hold additional qualifications making them experts and leaders in their subjects. These include degrees in viticulture, oenology or business, and diplomas and intensive training in distillation and sake brewing. Several either have achieved or are studying for their Master of Wine accreditation. WSET require their Online Educators
to grade and comment on student feedback tests and assignments at levels 3 and 4. This grading has a dual purpose. For the educator, this assessment allows them to monitor their students’ progress, and by monitoring their students’ successes or weaknesses, adapt their teaching as needed. For WSET, this assessment allows them to monitor the educators’ performance, so they might intercede and offer additional support as required.
The course will be based around a 4-week, 5 module online learning programme with remote educator support available for this time. Regular access and participation in the course online activities is essential for this mode of study. You can contact the educator through the platform any time for the duration of the scheduled course. Each module includes a series of independent activities to help students understand the differences between grape varieties and types and styles of wine.

Wine is happiest when stored on its side, keeping the cork moist and maintaining the seal. Unfortunately, wine labels are not so happy lying face-down: First Growth Bordeaux and Plonk de Plonk don’t look terribly different from the top. Keep your collection clearly marked and easy to search with our erasable tags. If you have a bottle of ’97 Opus One on your shelf, don’t you secretly want your guests to know?
Or, if you like blind-tasting, use turned-over tags on un-labeled bottles to keep the wine’s identities a secret until you’re ready to take a peek…
