SUMMARY:WORKSHOP #10 – EXPLORE: VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING DECISIONS OF CHÂTEAU LAGRANGE\, BY MATTHIEU BORDES
DESCRIPTION:In the green heart of Abruzzo (east-central Italy)\, Leonardo Pizzolo established Valle Reale more than 20 years ago. The vineyards are situated inside one of Italy’s most beautiful national parks. The topography and climate of this part of Abruzzo is completely different from the rest of the region and unique within central Italy. The proximity to the mountain range\, and the altitude of the estate itself\, create wide fluctuations in temperature between summer and winter and day and night. The beautiful mountainous landscape and uncontaminated environment allow Valle Reale to practice organic and biodynamic farming and make wines which can truly reflect the terroir and grape variety characters. Leonardo focuses on the cleanness and purity of grape varieties and the quality of his wines is absolutely fantastic with the perfume and complexity that you seldom find from the wines coming from Abruzzo. By avoiding the use of wood containers in his cellar\, the identity of the wines is crystal clear and the grape and terroir are brought to you in the glass.\n\n \n\nMWM Wine School now presents to you\, for the first time in Hong Kong\, a comprehensive tasting of the wines from Valle Reale! During this two hour workshop tasting\, our VIA Italian Wine Ambassador and Certified Italian Wine Educator – Justin Chen will guide the audience to explore this pristine and amazing land in Abruzzo and obtain a deeper knowledge of the two most important grape varieties in Abruzzo  (Trebbiano and Montelpuciano). Highlights of the tasting include a unique comparative tasting of two Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo\, which are made from grapes harvest at different times (morning vs night)! More importantly\, very limited bottles of single vineyard Trebbiano d’Abruzzo and Montelpulciano d’Abruzzo will be tasted with the purpose to demonstrate the great ability of these wines to translate different terriors amazingly.\n\n \n\nWe have the great pleasure and honor of having Leonardo Pizzolo (the owner) to join us via live-stream to share his passion and philosophy in making these wonderful wines and taste the same with us.  Look forward to your participation and don’t miss this truly unique experience!
