Among others\, it is the soil that plays the major role: the east is dominated by older Serravallian soils which provide a firmness and structure\, while the younger Tortonian soils in the west infuse the perfume and elegance into the wines. \nIn certain crus of La Morra\, the elegant and floral characters are finessed to its best.
